Ambassador strengthened cooperation with Nippon Steel executives

On 17 April 2024, Mr. SATO Ichiro, Managing Executive Officer, Global Business Development Division, Nippon Steel, together with Mr. INOUE Hajime, General Manager, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Witchu Vejjajiva, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan. The Ambassador appreciated the company's longstanding commitment to continue its investment in Thailand and was pleased to learn that the company had appointed the first ever Thai CEO to be in charge of their business in Thailand. It is also the first time that Nippon Steel has appointed a local for this prestigious position.

Both sides exchanged views on the company’s business and investment direction in Thailand. Nippon Steel is committed to conducting a business as a "local," high-quality steel producer in order to drive Thailand's economy forward, including the country’s circular economy based on recycled materials for steel production.
