On 31 July 2024, H.E. Mr. Witchu Vejjajiva, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, visited The Organization for Industrial, Spiritual and Cultural Advancement (OISCA) and met with Ms. Etsuko Y. NAKANO, President of OISCA. The President of OISCA also briefed the Ambassador on OISCA’s works, including its cooperation projects with Thailand concerning reforestation, forest preservation and community’s economic development. Ambassador Witchu expressed readiness to support OISCA’s efforts in these areas.
OISCA activities in Thailand began in 1975. The current key projects include the mangrove reforestation project in Ranong Province, the forest preservation project in Chiang Rai Province, and the Children Forest Programme aimed to promote awareness and conscientious actions on forestry. OISCA’s projects place importance on reforestation and natural resource preservation in tandem with the development of a local community’ well-beings, such that the local will be able take care of their natural resources in a sustainable manner.
