Ambassador presided over “Capacity Building on Skill Standards for Overseas Thai Labour Force Project: National Skill Standard Testing, Muay Thai Instructor, Level 1”

On 25 August 2024, H.E. Mr. Witchu Vejjajiva, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, presided over “Capacity Building on Skill Standards for Overseas Thai Labour Force Project: National Skill Standard Testing, Muay Thai Instructor, Level 1” at Nornaksin, Tokyo. The project, co-organised by the Department of Skill Development, Ministry of Labour and the Office of Labour Affairs in Japan, aims to upskill the Thai nationals who are currently working as Muay Thai instructors Japan.

In his opening remarks, Ambassador Witchu commended this project as a significant step to standardize and enhance the quality of Muay Thai instructions in Japan, in order to make Muay Thai gain more recognition both in Japan and at international level. He also expressed the Royal Thai Embassy’s readiness to work with relevant sectors to further promote Muay Thai in Japan. The Ambassador also took part in observing the skill testing of 14 Thai Muay Thai instructors.
