On 24 July 2024, H.E. Mr. Witchu Vejjajiva, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, visited the ASEAN Promotion Centre on Trade, Investment and Tourism (ASEAN-Japan Centre: AJC) and had an introductory meeting with Mr. HIRABAYASHI Kunihiko, Secretary General of AJC, during which both sides exchanged views on AJC’s role in promoting ASEAN-Japan relations.
AJC was established on 25 May 1981 based on the Agreement Establishing the ASEAN Promotion Centre on Trade, Investment and Tourism in order to promote economic cooperation, trade, investment, tourism and people-to-people exchanges between ASEAN members and Japan. To cope with the post COVID-19 challenges, AJC is now focusing on promoting comprehensive, flexible and sustainable trade, creative economy, investment responsive to local needs, investment in Blue and Green Economy, responsible and sustainable tourism, as well as partnership for change.
