On 4 October 2024, H.E. Mr. Witchu Vejjajiva, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, Mr. Kittiphan Bangyikhan, Minister Counsellor for Industrial Affairs, and officials of the Royal Thai Embassy, Tokyo, visited the company’s Motomachi Plant in Aichi Prefecture to observe the processes of car assembly, electric vehicle battery production, and production of hydrogen energy for factory operations at the invitation of Toyota Motor Corporation.
In this connection, Mr. UEDA Hiro, Chief Officer of the External & Public Affairs Group, hosted a welcoming lunch in honour of the Ambassador and the Thai Embassy delegation, whereby the two sides exchanged views on ways to strengthening cooperation between Thailand and Toyota. Ambassador Witchu stressed that Thailand is determined to stay in both Toyota’s existing and emerging industry supply chains. He wishes to welcome more investment from Toyota in research and development, especially in environmentally friendly industries such as renewable energy and biofuels for vehicle use and industrial applications. The Ambassador also encouraged Toyota to support Thai suppliers in automotive industry during the transition from internal combustion vehicles to electric vehicles.
Ambassador and the delegation also visited the Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology which introduces the history and development of Toyota’s businesses from textile to automobiles, and the Toyota Kaikan Museum which displays Toyota’s latest products and technologies, including various models of vehicles.
