Ambassador and Governor of Tokushima Prefecture holds discussion on ways to further enhance cooperation

On 21 October 2024, prior to his visit to Thailand, Mr. GOTODA Masazumi, Governor of Tokushima Prefecture, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Witchu Vejjajiva, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan.

Both sides held a discussion on ways to further enhance cooperation between Thailand and Tokushima Prefecture, particularly in the following potential fields, namely medical industry and tourism, elderly care, automotive industry, technical knowledge exchanges between SMEs as well as human resource development including student exchanges. In addition, Ambassador Witchu reaffirmed his determination to further foster cooperation between Thailand and Japan, both at national and prefectural levels including with Tokushima Prefecture. Ambassador also underscored the importance of identifying potential sectors and possible cooperation that can bring concreate outcomes.

Governor GOTODA led a business delegation of over 30 people from Tokushima Prefecture to visit Thailand on 28 -31 October 2024 for the signing ceremony of the MOU between Tokushima Prefecture and the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) and the MOU with the Department of Industrial Promotion, Ministry of Industry. During the said trip, the delegation has also explored economic and investment potentials in Phuket and Bangkok.
