Ambassador presides over the Press Conference of “Happy Winter Thai Festival”

On 11 December 2024, H.E. Mr. Witchu Vejjajiva, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, presided over the Press Conference of “Happy Winter Thai Festival.” The Press Conference was attended by members of the press, including representatives from Japanese TV stations, radio, magazines and websites.

In his remarks, Ambassador Witchu introduced “Happy Winter Thai Festival” which was organised by the Department of International Trade Promotion, Ministry of Commerce, and the Office of Commercial Affairs, Royal Thai Embassy, Tokyo. The event aimed to present Thai fabric and textile products from the “Fun Wearing Thai Fashion” project initiated by Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Narirattana Rajakanya such as garments, accessories, souvenirs, furniture and home decorations, as well as other Thai products including food, beverages, cosmetics, spa products. Her Royal Highness’s project has helped preserve and carry on Thailand’s cultural heritage and local wisdom while developing them into more value-added products, hence improving the livelihoods and providing additional income for women, rural communities and other vulnerable groups.

“Happy Winter Thai Festival” took place on 14-25 December 2024 at Daikanyama T-Site, and on 18-25 December 2024 at Muji Ginza. In addition to Thai fabric and textile, the event featured a variety of activities showcasing Thailand in various aspects, including tourism, dramas, games and Thai astrology as well as fan meeting events by Thai artists.
