On 30 January 2025, Mr. SUGIMOTO Kazumi, Member of the House of Representatives and Director-General of International Affairs Bureau of the Japan Innovation Party (JIP), paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Witchu Vejjajiva, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, at the Royal Thai Embassy. During the meeting, both sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation between Thailand and the JIP and strengthen Thailand-Japan relations as well as progress of the preparation for EXPO 2025 in Osaka which will take place from 13 April to 13 October 2025 and be participated by Thailand.

The Thai Pavillion in the EXPO 2025 will feature Thailand under the theme of “THAILAND: Connecting Lives for Greatest Happiness” based on the concept of “Bhumi”, meaning immunity or resilience. The Thai Pavillion will showcase various aspects of “Bhumi” in the Thai context built up by Thai wisdom, ways of life and culture, natural resource endowment, innovation, as well as potentialities and strengths of Thailand’s public health system.
