Ambassador attends the "Amazing Thailand A Million Thank You and New Year Reception”

On 24 January 2025, H.E. Mr. Witchu Vejjajiva, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, attended the "Amazing Thailand A Million Thank You and Newyear Reception", organised by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) at The Peninsula Tokyo. Also present at the event were executives from TAT, namely Ms. Pattharawadee Na Chiangmai, Deputy Governor for Asia and South Pacific Markets, Mr. Chuwit Sirivajjakul, Regional Director for East Asia and Mr. Kajorndet Apichartrakul, Director of TAT Tokyo.

In his remarks, Ambassador Witchu expressed his appreciation to all partners in tourism industry, including airlines, hotels, travel agencies, and Thai-Japanese friendship associations, for their unwavering support for promoting Thailand as a preferred travel destination welcoming over a million Japanese tourists to Thailand in 2024—the first time in five years since the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Ambassador also emphasized the importance of tourism in enhancing mutual appreciation and understanding between the peoples of Thailand and Japan, as well as promoting business expansion and economic growth of both countries.
