Ambassador presented a Brooch of Honor and a Certificate of Appreciation to Ms. Pimthep Ida, “Volunteer Consul for the year 2024”

     On 2 March 2025, H.E. Mr. Witchu Vejjajiva, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, presented a Brooch of Honor and a Certificate of Appreciation to “Volunteer Consul for the year 2024” - Ms. Pimthep Ida, Nagano prefecture’s volunteer leader. The “Volunteer Consul”, launched by the Department of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand,aims to acknowledge both Thai and foreign individuals who have dedicated themselves in assisting the consular work of Thai Embassies and Consulates abroad.

     The Ambassador also held a discussion with Thai volunteers from Nagano Prefecture regarding the organization of a mobile consular service and the key issues facing the Thai community in the prefecture, including the welfare of the legally-employed Thai workers and the problems concerning overstayers in Japan.
