Ambassador participates in the 46th OISCA International Tokyo Forum

On 27 February 2025, H.E. Mr. Witchu Vejjajiva, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, accompanied by Ms. Patamon Panchavinnin, Counsellor, participated in the 46th OISCA International Tokyo Forum at the invitation of OISCA International. The Forum is held annually to discuss cooperation in agriculture, human resource development, and environmental conservation in the Asia-Pacific. The participants in this year’s forum included speakers, namely Mr. TANI Koichi, Chair of the Special Committee for Regional Revitalisation, Policies on Children, and Digital Society Promotion of the House of Representatives of Japan, and Secretary-General of the Association of Japanese Diet Members Supporting OISCA, Ms. NAKANO Etsuko, President of OISCA International and Mr. IWAKAMI Kenzo, Director, Non-Governmental Organizations Cooperation Division, International Cooperation Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, representatives from 11 embassies, as well as observers by OISCA’s partners from the Japanese private sector.

The briefing on OISCA’s activities and international cooperation for the year 2024 was followed by exchanges of views by the representatives from participating embassies. Ambassador Witchu expressed his appreciation for OISCA’s projects in Thailand, including the mangrove reforestation in Ranong and the Children’s Forest Program which helped raise environmental awareness among local youths. He encouraged OISCA to broaden its partnership with Japanese private sectors and international organisations in order to enhance OISCA’s visibility and gain more support. Ambassador Witchu also reaffirmed the Embassy’s determination to further support OISCA’s activities in Thailand.
