Reception in celebration of the Royal Thai Armed Forces Day 2025

On 13 March 2025, H.E. Mr Witchu Vejjajiva, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, presided over the reception in celebration of the Royal Thai Armed Forces Day 2025 at the Royal Thai Embassy, hosted by the Office of the Defence Attaché of Thailand to Japan. The reception was co-hosted by Group Captain Wongwiwat Wattanawarangkul, Defence and Air Attaché, Colonel Pongsak Khiwnang, Army Attaché, and Captain Panya Chatpaiboon, Naval Attaché, and was attended by more than 150 distinguished guests, including General MORISHITA Yasunori, Chief of Staff of the Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force, defence attachés in Japan and their spouses, Thai military cadets studying in Japan, as well as Team Thailand officials and their spouses.

On this occasion, Ambassador Witchu gave the opening remarks emphasising the role of the Royal Thai Armed Forces in maintaining and promoting regional and international peace, stability, and security within the framework of ASEAN and the United Nations. He also highlighted the long standing and close relationship between Thailand and Japan as “Comprehensive Strategic Partners,” and the importance of defence cooperation between the two nations which has contributed to the stability and security in the Indo-Pacific region as well as the joint efforts to tackle contemporary security issues, such as cybersecurity, space security, maritime security, humanitarian assistance, disaster relief, including Women, Peace and Security.
