On 21 March 2025, H.E. Mr. Witchu Vejjajiva, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, held a teleconference discussion with the Joint Standing Committee on Commerce, Industry and Banking (JSCCIB), represented by Mr. Sanan Angubolkul, Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce; Dr. Visit Limlurcha, Vice Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce; Mr. Chartchai Panichewa, Vice Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) and executives of the JSCCIB. Also present in the discussion were the heads and representatives of Team Thailand economic agencies in Tokyo.
The discussion was initiated by the Royal Thai Embassy, Tokyo, with the aim of learning the needs and direction of the Thai private sector in conducting their business with Japan, so that the Embassy and Team Thailand in Japan can synergise and give more relevant support. The meeting agreed upon priority sectors that should be pushed forward by the public-private sector cooperation, namely biotechnology, clean energy, medical and wellness industries, food innovation, and human resource development to create employment opportunities for Thai workers in Japan, particularly in the elderly care sector.
