On April 6, 2025, H.E. Mr. Witchu Vejjajiva, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, attended the commemoration ceremony marking the 95th anniversary of the bestowment of the Holy Relics of the Lord Buddha upon Takao-san Yakuo-in Temple in Hachioji City, Tokyo. The homage ceremony was led by Venerable SATO Shujin, Chief Abbot of Takao-san Yakuo-in Temple, and was attended by approximately 270 members of the Nippon Old Scout Club and various boy scout clubs.

On this occasion, the Ambassador delivered a remark highlighting the importance of Takao-san Yakuo-in Temple as the enshrinement site of the Holy Relics of the Lord Buddha and a replica of Phra Phuttha Chinna Rat statue. The Temple stands as a testimony to the long-standing relations and the close religious and cultural ties between Thailand and Japan as well as to the mutual appreciation shared by the peoples of the two countries. The Ambassador also expressed his appreciation to Takao-san Yakuoin Temple for its significant role in fostering the cultural ties and friendship between Thailand and Japan.

As a token of amity between Thailand and Japan, the Late His Majesty King Prajadhipok had graciously bestowed the Holy Relics of the Lord Buddha upon the delegation of Japan Federation of Boy Scouts (now the Boy Scout of Japan) during His visit to Thailand near the end of 1930. Subsequently, in 1956, a white stupa was constructed at Takao-san Yakuoin Temple to house these Holy Relics. Moreover, in 1991, a replica of Phra Phuttha Chinna Rat statue was presented by Wat Paknam Paseecharaoen of Thailand to be enshrined in this stupa.
