Nippon Steel executives pay a courtesy call on Ambassador

On 23 May 2025, Mr. SATO Ichiro, Senior Managing Executive Officer, Global Business Development Division, Nippon Steel Corporation, along with his delegation, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Witchu Vejjajiva, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, to provide an update on the company’s overseas investment, including its recent expansion of production capacity of tinplate steel sheets for food containers in Thailand, and the latest developments of the global steel industry. Both sides also discussed opportunities and potentials for investment between Thailand and Japan.
Mr. SATO expressed his gratitude for the Thai government’s continued support for Nippon Steel’s operations in Thailand. He reaffirmed the company’s determination to maintain the supply chain within the country and to utilize its expertise in plant and machinery maintenance to help enhance Thailand’s steel production capabilities in the construction sector.
Thailand is among Nippon Steel’s three most important global markets, including United States and India, and is regarded by the company as the gateway to ASEAN’s markets.
