Ambassador co-presides over the 18th Thai Festival in Nagoya

On 17 May 2025, H.E. Mr. Witchu Vejjajiva, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, co-presided over and delivered remarks at the opening ceremony of the 18th Thai Festival in Nagoya at Edion Hisaya Plaza in Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture, at the invitation of the Organizing Committee of the Thai Festival in Nagoya. Also present at the ceremony were the Honourable Mr. ICHIMI Katsuyuki, Governor of Mie Prefecture, Mr. Akrapong Chalermnon, Consul-General of Thailand in Osaka, Mr. MORISHITA Yasushi, Honorary Vice-Consul in Nagoya, and Mr. MITSUBAYASHI Noritada, Chairman of Yamamori INC., representative of the Organizing Committee.

In his remarks, the Ambassador commended and expressed his appreciation to the Organizing Committee for its continued dedication to organize the Thai Festival in Nagoya annually to promote various aspects of Thailand such as cuisine, culture and tourism to both locals and foreigners in Aichi and neighboring prefectures. Ambassador Witchu also emphasized the importance of the Festival in strengthening the bilateral ties and mutual appreciation between the peoples of the two countries.
The 18th Thai Festival in Nagoya took place on 17 - 18 May 2025 and attracted approximately 105,000 visitors. The event featured forty booths offering Thai cuisine, beverages, fruits and products, as well as cultural and contemporary performances by various Thai artists. Moreover, the Royal Thai Embassy also hosted the “Creative Thailand” exhibition to showcase Thailand’s success stories of Thailand’s creative industries in five key sectors, namely entertainment and gaming, fashion and design, as well as Muay Thai.
