Ambassador welcomes Mayor of Misato Town, Akita Prefecture

On 27 May 2025, H.E. Mr. Witchu Vejjajiva, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, welcomed the visit to the Embassy of Mr. MATSUTA Tomomi, Mayor of Misato Town, Akita Prefecture. On this occasion, the Ambassador expressed his appreciation to Misato Town for its continued efforts in promoting the relations between Thailand and Japan, particularly through sports such as the training camp for the Thai national badminton team ahead of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics; and junior high school student exchange programmes with Nonthaburi Province since 2018. Both sides also exchanged views on potential joint activities to commemorate the 140th anniversary of the establishment of Thailand-Japan diplomatic relations in 2027.
