On 25 September 2025, H.E. Mr. Witchu Vejjajiva, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, Mr. Akrapong Chalermnon , Consul-General of Thailand in Osaka, and their spouses, and Dr. Korakrit Limsommut, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Health Service Support, Ministry of Public Health and Deputy Commissioner-General of the Thailand Pavillion, had the honour to welcome His Imperial Highness Crown Prince Akishino of Japan and His Imperial Highness Prince Hisahito during Their Imperial Highnesses’ visit to Thailand Pavilion at EXPO 2025 Osaka Kansai.
On this occasion, Their Imperial Highnesses engaged in a conversation with the welcoming delegation and received a briefing on the overview of the Thailand Pavilion as well as Thailand’s potentials in the fields of healthcare and medicine. Their Imperial Highnesses graciously signed the guestbook and took interest in various exhibitions and cultural performances, including classical Khon, Muay Thai, Thai traditional massage, public health and medical innovation, herbal products, and the Commemorative Exhibition: 60 Years of Royal Tilapia – A Testament to the Enduring Bond between the Two Countries” specially organized by Tilapia Association of Thailand to mark the 60th anniversary of the presentation of Tilapias to King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great in 1965 by the Emperor Emeritus Akihito.
