Ambassador of Thailand to Japan welcomes Ambassador-Designate of the Republic of Liberia to Japan

On 29 September 2025 at the Royal Thai Embassy, H.E. Mr. Witchu Vejjajjiva, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, welcomed and congratulated H.E. Mr. Edward Wade Appleton, Jr., Ambassador-Designate of the Republic of Liberia to Japan, on his assumption of duty. Both sides welcomed further cooperation between Thailand and Liberia both at the bilateral and multilateral levels. The Ambassadors agreed on the importance of enhancing cooperation in the fields of agriculture, energy, healthcare, and technical cooperation for human security. In addition, they also exchanged views on prioritised bilateral issues that each country has with Japan.

In 2027, Thailand and the Republic of Liberia will celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. Currently, the Embassy of the Republic of Liberia in Beijing has diplomatic jurisdiction over Thailand.
