Minister-Counsellor (Industrial) presents a trophy at the 2025 September Grand Sumo Tournament

On 28 September 2025, Mr. Porntawat Bhengsri, Minister-Counsellor (Industrial), on behalf of the Royal Thai Embassy, attended the 2025 September Grand Sumo Tournament at Tokyo’s Ryogoku Kokugikan and presented the Thailand-Japan Friendship Trophy to ONOSATO Daiki, the Sumo wrestler who won the top division of this tournament.
Thailand has presented the Thailand-Japan Friendship Trophy to the champion of the Grand Sumo Tournaments in Tokyo since 2017 as a commemoration of the 130th anniversary of the establishment of the bilateral diplomatic relations between Thailand and Japan.
