Ambassador of Thailand to Japan welcomes Ambassador-Designate of the Republic of Iceland to Japan

On 3 October 2025, at the Royal Thai Embassy, H.E. Mr. Witchu Vejjajjiva, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, welcomed and congratulated H.E. Mr. Hreinn Pàlsson, Ambassador-Designate of the Republic of Iceland to Japan, on his assumption of duty. Ambassador Witchu was briefed on the mission of Embassy of the Republic of Iceland and the request for the Embassy of the Republic of Iceland in Tokyo to have diplomatic representation covering Thailand. Both sides exchanged views on bilateral issues with Japan and welcomed the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Iceland this year and agreed to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in various areas such as tourism and economic exchanges.
