Ambassador Meets Director-General of the Department of Agricultural Extension and Witnesses the Signing Ceremony of Participation Contract for GREEN×EXPO 2027

On 14 October 2025, H.E. Mr. Witchu Vejjajjiva, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, met with Mr. Peeraphan Korthong, Director-General of the Department of Agricultural Extension, on his visit to Japan to take part in the signing ceremony of the Participation Contract on Thailand’s official participation in the International Horticultural Expo 2027 (GREEN×EXPO 2027) to be hosted by Japan from 19 March to 26 September 2027 in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture.

The Ambassador congratulated DG Peeraphan on his appointment as Commissioner General of Section (CG). Both sides discussed Thailand’s preparation for the EXPO, including the theme of the Thailand Pavilion which will showcase its potentials in smart agriculture and agricultural innovation, as well as inter-agency cooperation among the Thai authorities.

Following the meeting, the Ambassador witnessed the signing ceremony of the Participation Contract between DG Peeraphan, Mr. KOMURA Masato, Secretary General of the Japan Association for the International Horticultural Expo 2027, and Ambassador KOSHIKAWA Kazuhiko, Commissioner of the International Horticultural Expo 2027 at the Embassy’s conference hall.
