Minister Counsellor pays a courtesy call on Members of the House of Representatives from the Japan Innovation Party (JIP)

On 4 November 2025, Ms. Chawanis Chawanawong, Minister Counsellor, visited the National Diet of Japan and paid a courtesy call on two Members of the House of the Representatives from the Japan Innovation Party (JIP), namely The Honourable Mr. SUGIMOTO Kazumi, Director-General of the JIP’s International Bureau and Member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, and The Honourable Mr. AZUMA Toru, upon the invitation of the Party.

At the outset, Ms. Chawanis congratulated the Japanese side on the successful organization of EXPO 2025 Osaka which welcomed 25 million visitors. In this regard, The Honourable SUGIMOTO expressed appreciation for Thailand's participation, noting that it contributed significantly to the success of the event. Both sides discussed ways to further strengthen the partnership between Thailand and Japan, particularly through exchanges between parliamentarians and people-to-people relations, as well as closer cooperation between the Royal Thai Embassy and the JIP. They also exchanged views on the JIP’s key foreign and security policies.
