Minister Counsellor welcomes the Immanuel Orchestra and attends the special concert in Kanagawa Prefecture

On 22 October 2025, Ms. Chawanis Chawanawong, Minister Counsellor, welcomed Thai youth musicians of the Immanuel Orchestra and executives from NPO Shine for You, a non-profit organization, led by Mrs. KAKOGAWA Seiko, President of the NPO. The group visited the Embassy as part of the “Immanuel Orchestra Japan Tour 2025” held during 8 - 28 October 2025 in major cities across Japan, including Osaka, Nagoya, Gifu, Kanagawa, and Tokyo.

On this occasion, Ms. Chawanis congratulated the Thai youth for their participation in this project and expressed appreciation to NPO Shine for You for their initiation in bringing Thai youths to showcase their musical talents and develop their artistic skills abroad. Both sides also exchanged views on potential commemorative activities in celebration of the 140th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Japan in 2027.

Subsequently, on 24 October 2025, Ms. Chawanis attended a special concert by the Immanuel Orchestra at the invitation of the Kanagawa Prefectural Assembly Japan-Thailand Friendship League, held at Kanagawa Prefectural Government's Office. Distinguished participants included The Honourable Mr. KURODA Yuji, Governor of Kanagawa Prefecture, and The Honourable Mr. SHIKIDA Hiroaki, Member of the Kanagawa Prefectural Assembly and President of the Kanagawa Prefectural Assembly Japan-Thailand Friendship League, as well as Japanese politicians and representatives from the private sector. In her remarks, Ms. Chawanis expressed appreciation to the Kanagawa Prefectural Assembly Japan-Thailand Friendship League for organizing the concert which has helped further strengthen the close ties between the peoples of Thailand and Japan through music.
