Ambassador meets with the President and Professors of Sophia University

On 21 November 2025, H.E. Mr. Witchu Vejjajiva, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, met with Professor Dr. SUGIMURA Miki, President of Sophia University, and other professors, to discuss ways to promote academic cooperation and exchanges with the University, particularly in Thai studies and Thai language studies. In addition, both sides discussed potential joint activities to commemorate the 140th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Japan in 2027.

Sophia University is one of Japan’s renowned universities. It has academic partnerships and exchanges with many Thai higher education institutions. The University has also established the ASEAN Hub Center in Bangkok to promote academic and research exchanges, as well as cooperation with various sectors in ASEAN.
