Special Advisor to the Governor on International Affairs, Tokyo Metropolitan Government, pays an introductory call on Ambassador

On 12 December 2025, Mr. KUWABARA Atsushi, Special Advisor to the Governor on International Affairs, together with officials of the Office of the Governor for Policy Planning, Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG), paid an introductory call on H.E. Mr. Witchu Vejjajiva, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, at the Royal Thai Embassy.
Both sides discussed existing and potential areas of cooperation, including intercity cooperation between Bangkok Metropolitan Administration and TMG, commemorative activities for the 140th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Japan in 2027, as well as startup and innovation promotion. On this occasion, the TMG side also informed the Thai side of three events to be hosted by TMG during 27 - 29 April 2026, namely the third Global City Network for Sustainability (G-NETS) Forum focusing on urban climate and disaster resilience; SusHI Tech Tokyo 2026, one of Asia’s leading startup and innovation conferences; and the first Tokyo-Southeast Asian Capital Dialogue (TOKYO-SEAD) which will serve as a platform for discussing solutions to common urban challenges.
