Youth Ambassadors from Yachiyo City’s visit to the Royal Thai Embassy

On 8 January 2026, Mr. Vorapong Vadhanasindhu, Counsellor, welcomed a delegation of Youth Ambassadors from Yachiyo City, Chiba Prefecture, led by Mr. MINEGISHI Shuichi, Director of the Yachiyo City Board of Education, together with officials and teachers, totaling 18 participants, at the Royal Thai Embassy. During the visit, the delegation received a briefing on Thailand as well as Thailand - Japan relations in preparation for their visit to Thailand from 21 - 28 January 2026.

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) of Thailand and Yachiyo City have engaged in cultural exchanges since 1989, including the annual Youth Ambassadors exchange programme. In 2008, to mark the 20th anniversary of their cooperation, the BMA and Yachiyo City concluded a Memorandum on Exchange of Education and Culture. The most recent visit to Yachiyo City by the Youth Ambassadors from Bangkok took place in May 2025.
