2014.02.11-12 Ambassador officially visited Hiroshima

During 11-12 February 2014, Ambassador Thanatip Upatising officially visited Hiroshima for the first time. He met with Mr. Hidehiko Yusaki, Hiroshima Governor, at Hiroshima’s City Hall. Both sides agreed upon close collaboration in trade and investment and tourism and vocational education promotion. Hiroshima Governor encouraged for a direct flight between Bangkok-Hiroshima, stressing the significance of Hiroshima as the business central of Chugoku region, of which many firms are investing in Thailand. Ambassador affirmed that he would consider the matter with related agencies.
At the same time, Ambassador also met with Mr. Masahiro Nishikawa, President of Hiroshima-Thai Association and Nishikawa Rubber Co., Ltd. He showed appreciation for the association’s role in strengthening relations between Thailand and Hiroshima through diverse activities such as inviting Ambassador of Thailand to Japan to give a speech in its annual meeting and organizing Loy Kratong Festival. Ambassador also expressed gratitude for Nishikawa Rubber Co., Ltd. for its long-term automobile doors’ rubber business in Thailand
In this occasion, Ambassador visited Thai trainees in Nishikawa Rubber Co., Ltd., Mihara Factory, which accommodates 30 Thai trainees at present. They are praised and recognized for their strong determination and hard work.
