2014.06.28-29 2nd Thai Festival in Sendai

On 28 June 2014, Ambassador Thanatip Upatsing, together with Mme Monthip Upatising, his spouse, presented at the 2nd Thai Festival in Sendai, which was held at Koutoudai Kouen Shimin Hiroba, Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture, during 28-29 June 2014.  The festival was organized by the Thai Festival in Sendai Organizing Committee, while the Royal Thai Embassy supported the event.  Ambassador gave an opening speech with other honorable guests including Mr. Toshihiro Shimizu, Chairman of the committee, and Ms. Emiko Okuyama, Sendai Mayor.

This year, the Royal Thai Embassy exhibited Thai herbs and spices, which are important ingredients in Thai cuisine and are widely used in Thai spa, beauty and daily products.  Kanom-Krok and Kanom-Buang making demonstration was also provided to promote Thai sweets in Japan.

The event was comprised of Thai food and products booths, as well as Thailand promotion booths, namely Tourism Authority of Thailand and Thai Airways International.  Approximately 50,000 people participated in the festival.
