2014.07.11 Ambassador attended Thai Week 2014 at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU)

On Friday, July 11, 2014, Ambassador Thanatip Upatising visited APU to hold talks with Mr. Korenaga Shun, President of Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU), Oita prefecture. Ambassador also gave an opening speech and watched the musical play named ‘The Golden Sand’ (Baan Saai Thong) run by Thai students for Thai Week 2014. There were about 800 audiences watching this show.

APU, as an international university and home to students from more than 97 countries especially from Asia Pacific region, has the most number of international students in Japan. It has an international learning environment. To meet with the cross cultures of its students, every year APU holds `Multicultural Week’ events where International students have a chance to promote their countries’ cultures among their peers. On this occasion, Thai students held the event of Thai Week during 7-11 July, 2014.
