2014.08.24 Embassy joined “International Exchange Festival”, 60th Oi Dontaku Summer Festival

On 24 August 2014, Minister Singtong Lapisatepun and Royal Thai Embassy staff joined “International Exchange Festival”, the 60th Oi Dontaku Summer Festival, which was held in Chuo-Dori Street, in front of Oimachi Station, Shinagawa Ward.

Shinagawa Mayor, Mr. Takeshi Hamano, gave a speech for the festival’s 60th anniversary.  International friendship dance parade, where the Thai People in Saitama Club performed Thai dances, along with other dance groups from Shinagawa Ward or schools in the same area.

Eleven embassies and consulates in Tokyo which are located in or related to Shinagawa Ward, including the Royal Thai Embassy, held booths at the event.  It enabled Japanese residents in Shinagawa Ward to experience and better understand foreign culture.

In this occasion, the Royal Thai Embassy received cooperation from the Thai Massage Association, which provided Thai massage at the booth. Tourism information was also given.
