Som-O Night

On 9 September 2014, the Royal Thai Embassy organized “Som-O Night” event at the Embassy’s Hall. The Japanese Government has granted a permission to import Som-O (or Thai Pomelo) (Thongdee variety) from Thailand since 2012 and the event was held to promote Som-O more in the Japanese market, in which about 100 guests participated including people involved in fruits import business and distributors as well as media.

Following the Ambassador’s welcome remarks, there were DVD presentation about Som-O, the introduction of how to peel Som-O by the chef of Ambassador’s residence and the cooking demonstration by using Som-O as the main ingredient such as Som-O salad and Som-O sushi.
