Ambassador paid a courtesy call on Deputy Minister of Land Infrastructure Transportation and Tourism of Japan

On 30 March 2015, Ambassador Sihasak Phuangketkeow paid a courtesy call on Mr. Hiroshi Muto, Deputy Minister of Land Infrastructure Transportation and Tourism of Japan to introduce himself to his new duty and talk about the bilateral cooperation and the progress of the railway system. They both agreed to work closely together on this issue. Moreover, Ambassador raised topic about Japan not allowing Thai airlines to increase the number of flights or have transit flights to Japan. In addition, Japan does not allow charter flights to Japan based upon the recommendation of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). He asked Japan to consider a policy to decrease this effect by understanding that there will be more inbound and outbound Thai and Japanese tourists to Japan, especially in April and May.
