11th Thai Festival in Nagoya

On 20 June 2015, Ambassador Sihasak Phuangketkeow attended the opening ceremony of the 11th Thai Festival in Nagoya. The event was held at Hisaya-odori Park, Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture from 20-21 June 2015. The event was organized by the Nagoya, Thai Festival Organizing Committee, with Yamamori Inc. taking the lead role, supported by the Royal Thai Embassy. On this occasion, the Ambassador gave an opening speech together with other Japanese guests such as Yamamori Inc.’s President, the Aichi Governor, the Mie Governor and Nagoyas Mayor.This year, the Royal Thai Embassy exhibited Thai rice and products made from Thai rice, such as traditional Thai sweets. In addition, the Embassy consular officials and the Thai Network in Japan (TNJ) volunteers organized a mobile consular service at the Royal Thai Embassys booth on 20 June 2015. The service was organized in order to assist Thai people residing in Aichi Prefecture and nearby areas with inquiries about passports, legal documents, and to provide consultation on living in Japan. The Office of Labor in Japan also dispatched an official to provide advice and consultation to Thai workers.There were around 60 booths at the festival selling a variety of Thai foods and products and the Tourism Authority of Thailand and the Thai Airways conducted promotions for Thai tourism. As far as Thai Festivals in Japan go, the Thai Festival in Nagoya gained just as much attention as other Thai Festivals held in Yoyogi Park in Tokyo and in Osaka.
