On May 6-9, 2013, H.E.Ambassador Thanatip Upatising visited Kyushu to give a keynote speech in “Importance of the bilateral relationship between Thailand and Japan” at the “The Symposium on Mutual Tourism Exchange between Thailand and Kyushu” organized by the Kyushu District Transport Bureau(MLITT), the Kyushu Tourism Promotion Organization and the Nishinippon Shimbun Co., Ltd., and to give an opening speech at the “Thai Night”organized by Tourism Authority of Thailand, Fukuoka Office, on May 8,2013. Mr. Suraphon Svetasreni, Governor of Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) also attended the above symposium and “Thai Night”. About 730 persons participated in both events from the public & private sectors in Kyushu centering on the tourism industry.
During the visit, Ambassador paid courtesy call on Mr. Hodo Nakamura, Governor of Nagasaki Prefecture, Mr. Yasushi Furukawa, Governor of Saga Prefecture and Mr. Hiroshi Ogawa, Governor of Fukuoka. Ambassador talked with Mr. Hiroshi Ogawa about the close relations between Bangkok and Fukuoka Prefecture, especially the tourism exchange thanks to the direct flight operated by TG, and the a number of youth exchanges programs between the 2 cities.
