On 5 June 2013, Ambassador Thanatip Upatising, Minister Counsellor from Office of Educational Affairs and Embassy diplomats joined the opening ceremony of the art exhibition, “On Paper 2013 – Paper & Nature” at Tama Art University Museum, Tokyo. The exhibition was the cooperation between Tama Art University and Thailand’s Silpakorn Univeristy. Mr. Nobuto Fujitani, Tama Art University’s Chairman of Board of Directors, and Mr. Takenobu Igarashi, President, each delivered an opening speech. The Ambassador congratulated the two universities on the exhibition and presented certificates to Silpakorn University lecturers and students, who assisted in the exhibition. The group was led by Associate Professor Parinya Tantisuk, Dean of the Faculty of Painting, Sculpture and Graphic Arts, Silpakorn University, and Assistant Professor Yanwit Kunjaethong, lecturer from the same faculty.
Tama Art University and Silpakorn University have been working together on arts for more than two decades and jointly exhibiting art works both in Japan and Thailand since 2006. For “On Paper 2013 – Paper & Nature”, Silpakorn University lecturers and students visited Japan during 1-7 June 2013 to help organize workshop and seminar with those of Tama Art University. The exhibition is opened during 5-30 June 2013.
