2013.07.09 Tokugawa Museum donated for restoring Ayutthaya’s cultural heritage temples

On 9 July 2013, Mr. Narimasa Tokugawa, President of the Tokugawa Museum, met with Ambassador Thanatip Upatising to deliver 1-million-yen donation for preserving cultural properties.  Wat Sala Poon and Wat Chang Yai, two old temples in Ayutthaya, one of Thailand’s World Heritage sites, were granted restoration assistance by the foundation.  The donation will be made through Fine Arts Department, Ministry of Culture of Thailand.

The foundation has assisted in restoring cultural properties domestically and internationally, to preserve historical documents, handicraft and antiques.  Last year, the Temple of Dawn also received the grant to repair its 23 Buddha images.
