2013.07.11 Ambassador’s spouse attended the 7th Thai Fruits Carving Contest Award Ceremony

On 11 July 2013, Mme. Monthip Upatising, Ambassador’s spouse, and diplomats attended the 7thThai Fruits Carving Contest Award Ceremony, held at the Grand Prince Hotel Takanawa, Tokyo. The Contest was organized by Japan Fruits & Soap Carving Society, where Ms. Noriko Kosaka is the president.

Mme Monthip presented the opening speech, expressing her appreciation to the Society for its activities of promoting Thai Carving in Japan and also touching upon the common cultures of the two countries in foods and decorations. She also encouraged cultural exchanges through carving.

Thai Chefs Association and Thailand Culinary Academy acted as the judges, while carving instructors and the winner of the contest from Thailand conducted carving demonstration.
