On 26-27 July 2013, H.E. Ambassador Thanatip Upatising visited Jinnai Farm 21 in Hokkaido to observe Japanese agriculture business at the invitation of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kittichai Triratanasirichai, President of Khon Kaen University and President of Japan International Cooperation Foundation (JICF),
Dr. Ryoichi Jinnai, President of JICF, offers scholarships tostudents of Khon Kaen University to study in Japan since 1998. During the visit, Ambassador discussed the prospect of cooperation between Khon Kaen University and Jinnai Farm 21, especially in the area of livestock and agriculture cooperation.
Jinnai farm 21, established by Dr. Ryoichi Jinnai, is a model of agriculture of the next generation and an institute studying on agricultural commercialization. Features of this farm are greenhouse cultivation of tropical fruits that had been thought impossible to grow in Hokkaido, especially mangoes (Irwin and Namdokmai).
On 29 July 2013, Ambassador hosted a luncheon in honour of the President of Khon Kaen University and the JICF executive members after they finished their study visit in Japan.
