2013.08.02 Participants of the “Children’s International Festa 2013” visited the Thai Ambassador’s Residence

On 2 August 2013, Mme Monthip Upatising, together with Embassy members, welcomed 16 children and their parents who are participants of the “Children’s International Festa 2013” to the Thai Ambassador’s Residence.  This visit programme was designed by an organising committee of the Children’s Internaitonal Festa.

Mme Monthip gave them a tour in the Residence as well as a briefing on Thailand and Thai culture. Participants enjoyed Thai-style luncheon and received gifts of Thai handicrafts and name tag written in Thai. The programme would help develop children’s understanding on Thailand, which will eventually be the foundation of mutual understanding and friednship between the two peoples. Among participants, some children had already visited Thailand or lived there in the past and they performed Thai songs, spoke some Thai phrases, and also talked about their experience in Thailand.

The visit was conducted as part of the “Children’s International Festa 2013”, a cultural exchange programme, to be held on 31 August 2013 at the Ebisu Garden Place.  The Royal Thai Embassy supports the programme and offers cooperation every year.
