2013.11.06-07 H.E. Ambassador’s visit to Mie Prefecture

On 6-7 November 2013, H.E. Ambassador Thanathip and Mrs.Monthip Upatising and the delegation from the Royal Thai Embassy paid a visit to Mie prefecture, upon the invitation by Mr. Noritada Mitsubayashi, President of Yamamori Inc., in order to explore the opportunity to further strengthen the cooperation between Thailand and Mie Prefecture.

During the visit, H.E. Ambassador paid a courtesy call on Mr. Eikei Suzuki, the Governor of Mie Prefecture. In the discussion, both side agreed to expand the opportunity for Mie investment in Thailand, in particular for the SMEs,  through the newly-established mechanism namely, ASEAN Business Support Desk, located  in Bangkok, and MoU between Board of Investment of Thailand and Mie Prefecture. Among various issues, they have exchanged views on how to promotion the bilateral trade and tourism as well as the capacity building of Thailand’s vocational education system to support the increasing Japanese investment.

The delegation also paid a homage to the sacred Ise Jingu  and later visit the Yamamori Inc plant  in Kuwana. Yamamori Inc is one of the main manufacturer of Japanese soy sauce and Thai ready-cooked foodstuff, especially various type of Thai curry. It  has established the plant in Thailand and became the largest supplier of Japanese Soy sauce in the Thai market.
