02/12/2013

The Royal Thai Army Band led by Colonel Krisda Sarika joined the 49th Japan Self-Defense Forces Marching Festival 2013 during 15-16 November 2013 at Nippon Budokan.  Minister Singtong Lapisatepun, and Royal Thai Military Attaches, including spouses, presented at the festival and gave moral support to the Royal Thai Army Band on 16 November 2013.

The music performed by the Royal Thai Army Band included Royal Guards March, Elvis Presley’s melody, Muay Thai exhibition, and Song for Japan.  The band also co-performed with Japan Self-Defense Forces and US Forces based in Japan, receiving loud applause from the audience.

Japan Self-Defense Forces Marching Festival is held annually and is open for general public.  In the past, only marches from Japan Self-Defense Forces and US Forces based in Japan participated.  This year was the first time that the Royal Thai Army Band joined the event, as the representative of ASEAN countries to commemorate the 40th anniversary of ASEAN-Japan relations.
