11.07 Provincial Waterworks Authority Governor and Saitama Prefecture Official visited Chargé d’affaires

On 7 November 2012, Thai delegation led by Mrs. Ratana Kitchawan, Governor of Provincial Waterworks Authority, and Mr. Minoru Matsumoto, Deputy Director General of International Waterworks and Human Resource Development, General Affairs Division, Bureau of Public Enterprise, Saitama Prefecture, paid a courtesy visit to Mr. Singtong Lapisatepun, Chargé d’affaires. The visit was upon the occasion of four officers from the Provincial Waterworks Authority, both from the headquarter and Chonburi Province, taking part in technical training in Saitama Prefecture. Such training was according to an agreement between Saitama Prefecture’s Bureau of Public Enterprise and Thailand’s Provincial Waterworks Authority to support water management in Chonburi Province under JICA Partnership Program.
Under the 3-year-agreement (April 2012-March 2015), Saitama Prefecture agrees to send three experts to Thailand for two weeks, twice a year. At the same time, four officers from Thailand’s Provincial Waterworks Authority also receive training in the prefecture for two weeks, twice a year. The program is expected to help enhance Chonburi Province’s water treatment technology with necessary technical assistance. The officers joined the training during 5-16 November 2012, which marked the second year of the agreement.
