Ambassador presented the credentials to the Emperor of Japan


On 19 February 2010, H.E. Virasakdi Futrakul, Ambassador, had an audience with H.M Emperor Akihito and presented his credentials at the Ceremonial Hall of the Imperial Palace. During the ceremony, the Emperor of Japan expressed his kind sentiments to His Majesty the King of Thailand’s good health and well-being. The Emperor of Japan also extended his best wishes to the Ambassador to success in his duty and to further promote the cordial relationships between Japan and Thailand.

H.E. Virasakdi is the nineteenth Thai Ambassador to Japan. He has had a long foreign service career and served as the Thai Ambassador to countries including Myanmar, Canada, UN Mission in Geneva, and the United States. Prior to assuming his duty in Japan, he was the Permanent-Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand.
