On 4th December 2015, The Royal Thai Embassy together with other Thai Government Offices in Japan held the reception on the occasion to celebrate His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s 88th Birthday Anniversary at The Imperial Hotel, Tokyo. Over 700 guests including Foreign Diplomats, Japan and international representatives from national authorities, private sectors attended and celebrated the auspicious occasion.
H.E. Mr. Sihasak Puangketkeow, Ambassador of the Royal Thai Embassy, gave an opening speech about the love and reverence that the people of Thailand have for His Majesty the King and how he had worked hard for the well being of the people. Moreover, the ambassador emphasized the good relations between Thailand and Japan that have been going on for a long period of time and the cooperation of ASEAN countries and Japan in the future. It was an honour for us to have Mr. Yasuhisa Shiozaki, Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare and Chairman of Japan-Thailand Parliamentary Friendship Association, as a representative of Japan to give the opening speech and Mr. Teisuke Kitayama, Chairman of Sumimoto Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC), proposed the toast for His Majesty the King and His Majesty the Emperor of Japan. Other honoured guests also include Mr. Taro Kono, Minister in Japan’s Cabinet Office and Secretariat of Japan-Thailand Parliamentary Friendship Association, and Mr. Natsuo Yamaguchi, leader of Komeito Party and member of the House of Councillors.
