9th Thai Speech Contest

The event was held at the Crystal Hall, Kanda University of International Studies and presided over by Mr. Kuniya Sakai, President of Kanda University of International Studies and Mr. Singtong Lapisatepun, Minister of the Royal Thai Embassy. Twenty bachelor degree students of Thai Major from 7 universities took part in the contest namely Tokyo University of Foreign Studies (Tokyo), Osaka University (Osaka Prefecture), Utsunomiya University (Tochigi Prefecture), Keio University (Tokyo), Meiji University(Tokyo), Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University(Oita Prefecture) and Kanda University of International Studies (Chiba Prefecture).

Every contestant had delivered the speech under the title of “Change” and answer a question in Thai. The selection panel was comprised of representatives from the Royal Thai Embassy, Office of Educational Affairs, Tourism Authority of Thailand in Tokyo and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan.

The outstanding prize for this year contest belonged to Mr. Taiki Kinoshita from Kanda University of International Studies, who received a round trip air ticket Tokyo-Bangkok, sponsored by Thai Airways International Co., Ltd. Other winners received a trophy, a certificate, cash reward and books on Thailand supported by the Japan-Thailand Association. Thai traditional dance and music were also performed at the event.
