On 26 April 2016, Royal Thai Embassy held a press conference on Thai Festival 2016 and activities about Thailand in Japan at Japan National Press Club. H.E. Mr. Bansarn Bunnag gave an information about the 17th Thai Festival 2016, which will be held on 14-15 May 2016 at Yoyogi Park. While, Miss Pattaraarnong Na Chiangmai, a director of Tourism Authority of Thailand, Tokyo Office, gave a briefing on events under Thailand Travel Week. Over 30 Japanese medias attended.
Also displayed in the press conference were 2 types of Thai green mangoes, namely, Kiew Sa Woey and Chock Anan, which has just been allowed to enter into Japanese market since February 2016 as well as Som-O or Thai Pomelo which is another potential Thai fruit. The participants also enjoyed Muay Thai or Thai boxing demonstration by Hamakko Muay Thai Gym which will also perform at the main stage of the 17th Thai Festival 2016.
