On June 13, 2016, Mr. Makoto Hirayama, the President of Kitoku Shinryo Co.,Ltd. paid a courtesy call on H.E. Ambassador Bansarn Bunnag in order to discuss preparations for Thai Night 2016 and also a pathway for supporting Thai Jasmine rice exports to the Japanese market in the future.
Thai Night is an annual activity organized by Yamamori Co., Ltd. and Kitoku Shinryo Co.,Ltd. for the purpose of disseminating Thai cuisine and Thai culture among Japanese people. The Royal Thai Embassy Tokyo supports the activity by providing the venue and Thai food every year. The theme of this year’s event centers on Thai Jasmine rice imports, which will be used to cook various foods that are not quite well-known among Japanese people. Furthermore, there will be a Thai cultural and music performance. Aside from that, the participants will be able to try Kaew Savey and Chok Anan mangoes, which have recently been permitted to be sold in Japan.
Kitoku Shinryo Co., Ltd. is a leading rice import company, which has a market share of more than 90 percent in Japan.
