The Ambassador Visited the Ichinoseki Solar Power - 1 GK

On 21 June 2016, H.E. Ambassador Bansarn Bunnag received an invitation from Mr. Toemchai Bunnag, Director and Secretary to the Board of Directors of the PTT Group subsidiary Global Power Synergy Public Company Limited (GPSC), to visit the Ichinoseki Solar Power 1 GK Project, which is a solar power project created to produce and sell power to the infrastructure in Ichinoseki City, Iwate Prefecture.
On this occasion, the Ambassador and executives from GPSC met with Mr. Osamu Katsube, Ichinoseki Mayor to introduce themselves and their solar power project. The Ambassador reaffirmed enhancing local cooperation and hoped that this investment would be useful for economic growth in Ichinoseki city and Iwate prefecture.
GPSC has a 99 percent share in the Ichinoseki Solar Power 1 GK Company and it will operate this solar power project on 1400 acres with an electricity generation capacity of 20.8 MW with a budget of 10 billion yen. The company also signed a power- purchasing agreement with Japan’s Tohoku Electric Power and is due to start commercial operation by the fourth quarter of 2017. In addition, this is the first investment that GPSC has made in Japan.
