On 13 January 2017, Mr. Baworn Sattayawuthiphong, Minister Counsellor (Industrial) was the representative of the Royal Thai Embassy to witness the signing of the sales agreement for alternative energy business between Dr. Sumet Suttapukti, Chairman & CEO of Inter Far East Wind International Co., Ltd and Mr. Shigeru Fukuhara, Director, Member of the Board, the Furukawa Battery Co., Ltd. (FB Battery) at the head office of FB Co., Ltd. in Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture.
The agreement is for becoming a business partner of Batteries for Industry. iwind Co., Ltd. will use a large battery to implement electricity production from wind energy in the “Lomlikor Wind Power Plant” in Pakchong, Nakhon Si Thamarat Province. This will be the first project in South East Asia to use a battery to implement electricity production. It can produce a total of PPA 8.965 MW and it will sell the electricity to the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand more efficiently. In the meantime, iwind will use that battery for other alternative energy as well. In addition, iwind has received authorization from the FB Co., Ltd. to be the manufacturer of the battery for industry and it will be the only company in the South East Asia Region.
iwind is a subsidiary of Inter Far East Corporation Co., Ltd, which is the leader of alternative energy in Thailand. There are 4 companies including 1.) Inter Far East Solar Co., Ltd. 2.) Inter Far East Energy Co., Ltd. 3.) iwind Co., Ltd. 4.) Inter Far East Cap Management Co. Ltd. Besides these projects in Thailand, iwind Co., Ltd. is launching wind power projects in Vietnam, Australia Korea and Bangladesh.
